x^2-10x + 16 = 0 constant 16 is wrong

and bob got -9 and - 1 so

x^2 + 10 x + 9 = 0

as 10 is wrong (bob's mistake) and hence original equation

x^2-10x + 9 = 0 or (x-9)(x-1) = 0 so roots are 9 and 1
